Engineers use only SI metric system. In America, they suggest to use imperial measurements. You should to convert your project's measurements if you going send it to someone who lives in USA.

Lesson B

1. What types of measurement are you familiar with?

In Mongolia, we all use SI metric system. It's includes meter not inches, kilograms not pounds, kilometer not feet. Only USA people uses imperial metric system.

2. What can you measure with the SI system of units?

I can measure all objects with the SI system of units. Kilogram for weight, kilometer and meter for distance, centimeter for long or short. SI system can measure all objects.

Unit 7

Lesson A

1. What are some types of numbers?

Natural Numbers, Whole Numbers, Integers, Rational Numbers, Irrational Numbers, Real Numbers. They are types of numbers.

2. What is meant by squaring, or cubing, a number?

In mathematics, a square number or perfect square is an integer that is the square of an integer; in other words, it is the product of some integer with itself. For example, 9 is a square number, since it can be written as 3 × 3.

Lesson B

1. When do engineers work with numbers?

It's bad question. All engineers work with numbers. If you not working with number you can't call this engineering. It's impossible to work without number who studying with engineering.

2. How do you avoid making mistakes with numbers?

Base knowledge of numbers is making me avoid from mistakes with numbers. You could check your mistakes yourself If you want to avoid from making mistakes.

Unit 8

Lesson A

1. When do people use the scientific method?

Life is based on scientific method. You can't change this. People use scientific method for everyday.

2. Why is the scientific method important?

As I said before, life and world is based on scientific method. You guys can't change this. Just compatible with it.

Future of ICT

I think ICT (Information and communications technology) is based on a engineering. It's all about a save people's work or consumption. It's hard to imagine our life without a Information technology now. Everyone uses computer, internet, smart devices, mobile phones in everyday. 21th century is an era of ICT.

Let's back to early of 2000. In 2000, only required people uses hand phone or internet. If you want to call to someone you need to go telephone cabins, if you want to visit any website you need to go internet cafe or something. ICT wasn't consumption of all people. It's good to imagine all people not using mobile phone, internet or any devices. Because people don't waste a time for this thing. They was do other things. Watching TV, training in some sports, plays with a family in the garden. And now we all using a things of ICT. It's good, it's efficient. If we call to someone it's easy, just get your smart phone and touch some of screen. But from other side, we're wasting our time so much for this. We need to control our time for waste.

In last 10 years so much things changed. You know, I'm talking about your smart phone, devices. But I can't image how much things get will change in next 10 years? how much new technologies, how much sectors of ICT will get. It's so hard to imagine next 10 - 20 years.

Internet

The Problem
The Solution
Research and planning activities
Producer and seller of the product
Improvements

When we don't using an Internet the communication system was a very worse. Example: If you need to say some words to your Mommy you would call to Mommy with a phone. It's 1990 - 2000. After 2000's is the era of the Internet. It's called "Communication century". However now we can chat text with anyone who wants chat with us. It's very fast, and simple service of Internet.

In 1960 - 1970 was a beginning of an Internet. It was called a ARPANET, CYCLADES. Only communication militaries was use ARPANET to transfer information.

In 2016, Internet is the way of communication, marketing, business. It's very useful and around 40% of the world population has an internet connection today. The first billion was reached in 2005. The second billion in 2010. The third billion in 2014. In 2014, nearly 75% (2.1 billion) of all internet users in the world (2.8 billion) live in the top 20 countries. The remaining 25% (0.7 billion) is distributed among the other 178 countries, each representing less than 1% of total users.

A world-wide computer network that can be accessed via a computer, mobile telephone, PDA, games machine, digital TV, etc. The Internet access service can be provided through a fixed (wired) or mobile network: analogue dial-up modem via standard telephone line, ISDN (Integrated Services Digital Network), DSL (Digital Subscriber Line) or ADSL, Cable modem, High speed leased lines, Fiber, Powerline, Satellite broadband network, WiMAX, Fixed CDMA, Mobile broadband network (3G, e.g. UMTS) via a handset or card, Integrated SIM card in a computer, or USB modem.

Now we using Internet everyday. Because Internet is the most useful way of the communication and others. Before 20 years, internet was a only physical kind. But now it's the daily consumption of a lot of people.
